The Cooperatives Union of Kyrgyzstan (CUK) was part of the official delegation headed by the President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov to Germany.  The delegation met with Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, and apprised her of their request for support towards the development of agricultural cooperatives in Kyrgyzstan. In response, Chancellor Merkel said, “I am informed about your request to support cooperatives in the agricultural sector. We can cooperate in this area, provide advice in terms of phytosanitary, food safety, green technologies and quality of agricultural products.”   Taking this important conversation forward, the CUK has entered into an MoU with DGRV (German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Confederation) in the fields of agriculture, breeding and seed farming and processing.
