On October 18th  2018, the Guidelines concerning Statistics of Cooperatives were adopted at the 20th International Conference of Labour Statisticians. According to ILO, ‘the delegates (of the Conference) underlined the importance of developing reliable and globally comparable statistics of co-operatives. A number of country representatives also echoed their support for conducting pilot-testing of the guidelines and expressed their willingness to participate in the process.’ An important point to be noted is that the guidelines will only be officially finalized with the approval by the Governing Body at the ILO in 2019.
