The third ICA-AP Trade & Business Committee meeting for the year 2023 was held in Manila, Philippines, on 7 November 2023. This meeting was attended by 13 cooperative representatives from 6 countries, namely Malaysia, the Philippines, Korea, Sri Lanka, China, and Thailand. The meeting was chaired by Datuk Seri Dr. Abdul Fattah Abdullah, the Chair of the Committee and the President of ANGKASA and the ASEAN Cooperative Organization (ACO).
The committee officially ratified the inclusion of two new members from the Cooperative League of Thailand (CLT) - Mr. Poramate Intarachumnum and Mr. Phanuwat Wanraway. With their addition, the committee's membership has expanded to a total of 24 members and 2 observers, representing 13 cooperatives across 9 countries.
The minutes of the previous meeting was formally confirmed. Ms. Wan Azwati Wan Mohamed, the committee's secretary, presented the 2023 activity updates and outlined the activity plan for the year 2024. The engagement in this meeting facilitated a thorough review of past actions and provided a strategic outlook for future endeavors, setting a solid foundation for the committee's continued progress.
In conclusion, the Chair expressed deep gratitude to all members for their active engagement, valuable insights, and unwavering support during the meeting. The collaborative efforts have greatly contributed to committee’s productivity and enrichment. The next meeting will be held in January or February 2024. Members were encouraged to stay engaged, maintain open communication, and continue their support for the committee's mission.
