Members and observers at the 10th Annual Meeting of the ICYC.

Mr. Ahsan Ali Thakur (31) from the Karachi Co-operative Housing Societies Union was elected (unopposed) as the Chairperson of the ICA-AP Committee on Youth Cooperation (Youth Committee) until 2021, at the 10th Annual Committee meeting on 12 November 2017 in Malaysia. Mr. Udaya Prabath (33) from Sri Lanka Consumer Co-operative Federation was re-elected as Vice Chairperson until 2019. The committee was led by Dr. Sukesh Zamwar of the Buldana Urban Credit Co-operative Society, India from 2013-2017. Mr. Li Chunsheng, President ICA-AP presented Dr. Zamwar with a token of appreciation on behalf of the ICA-AP at the Regional Board meeting.  

The Youth Committee currently comprises of 14 members from 9 countries in the Asia Pacific region. The committee decided to actively reach out to the ICA membership in the Asia Pacific region to enhance youth membership and participation in the region. The committee also decided to engage members and volunteers in secretarial work; Ms. Anis Sadah of KOPINDO, Indonesia was nominated as Co-Secretary.
