Legal Framework Analysis (LFA)

• 17 national reports have been completed for Bhutan, India, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kiribati, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Palestine, Sri Lanka, Vanuatu, Vietnam and Lebanon.
• National reports of Jordan and Palestine have been uploaded for public viewing on the  #coops4dev website. More reports will be uploaded in December.
• The structure for the regional LFA report is currently being discussed with the CU and other regional offices.

Mapping of cooperatives in South Asia and Pacific

The state of cooperatives in Nepal, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Australia, Kiribati, and Vanuatu were studied and mapped through secondary research. The key parameters studied were contribution of cooperatives to the national economy, sectoral distribution of cooperatives, genesis and evolution of the cooperative movement, historical and current laws on cooperatives, and association with the international cooperative movement and ICA. The snapshots of seven countries  are available on the ICA-AP website.
