Retail co-operative from Ho Chi Minh City has been included in a list of the top 500 Asia pacific retailers. Set up in 1996, the Saigon Union of Trading Co-operatives owns a number of businesses, including the Co.op Mart supermarket chain, Co.op food store chain, Co.op Xtra, Sense City commercial centre and TV shopping channel HTV Co.op.

The union, which has been featured in the list 12 times, has also received the gold award from Retail Asia Magazine for being one of Vietnam’s top retailers. Saigon Co-op is the leading co-operative retailer in Vietnam, and early this year was named among the country’s top ten brands by the ministry of industry and trade.
